About Garden in the Woods

New England’s premier wildflower garden, named one of the 2010 - 1,000 Great Places to Visit in Massachusetts.

Visit Garden in the Woods during its 2013 SeasoWoodland Garden Azalea Stepsn. The paths and trails of the Garden are open for visitors Tuesdays through Sundays and Holiday Mondays April 13 through October 31.

 

This ever-changing living museum—New England’s premier wildflower garden—has more than 1,000 native plant species, with many rare and endangered native specimens throughout the gardens, as well as the unique New England Rare Plant Garden.

2013 Hours

April 13–July 4:

Open Tuesdays to Sundays, holiday Mondays, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. - last admissions at 4:30 p.m.

Thursdays 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. - last admissions at 7:30 p.m.

July 5-October 31:

Open Tuesdays to Sundays, holiday Mondays, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. - last admissions at 4:30 p.m.

Information

  • Snacks and drinks available in the Visitor Center 
  • Picnicking is allowed on our patio only, not in the Garden 
  • Dogs are not permitted in the Garden or on the grounds 
  • We ask all visitors to stay on paths and respect the hard work of our dedicated horticulturists

The education building is handicapped accessible.  For those needing mobility assistance, cart tours of the Garden’s main path are available by reservation at 508-877-7630, ext. 3303 or lreed@newenglandwild.org.
