GROWING CONNECTIONS: Campaign for New England Wild Flower Society
Help us grow with two projects: Native Plant Center and Online New England Flora
To continue its conservation success, the Society has boldly embarked on two exciting projects:
- Building a Native Plant Center – a multi-use building for retail, education, and business at Nasami Farm Nursery and Sanctuary
- Endowing the Online New England Flora – the first comprehensive, web-based field guide to our region’s native plants for scientists and novices alike
The GROWING CONNECTIONS goal is $3.8 million. The campaign is already enjoying tremendous momentum, having raised $2.5 million—70 percent of our goal.
I was inspired by being around the people who work here. Their devotion and commitment is infectious.

Native Plant Center: Vital to Our Conservation Mission – $2.8 million
This innovative center will keep the Society at the forefront of plant conservation.
The LEED-certified Native Plant Center will feature indoor and outdoor sales areas, a resource center, a multi-purpose room for classes, workshops, seed cleaning, and community projects plus seed-drying and cold storage rooms critical to our conservation work.
Online New England Flora: Knowing About Plants Leads to Action – $1 million
The endowment will fund a permanent research botanist position and the technical assistance to keep the Online Flora accurate and accessible.
The New England Online Flora, the first comprehensive field guide of its kind, will present up-to-date information about our region’s native plants to botanists and novices alike. The robust website for plant identification represents a huge shift from book-based manuals to timely and thorough online botanical information.
