2009 Outstanding Achievement Awards
On Sunday, November 1, 2009, the Annual Meeting of New England Wild Flower Society took place with a brief business meeting, staff presentations, and awards presentations. The slate of new Trustees and Overseers was presented with three new Trustees and two new Overseers to become officially on the board in December of 2009. New to the Board as Trustees are Carolyn Osteen, Deirdre Menoyo, and Pam Resor. New to the Board as Overseers are Rick Peiser and Jane Murphy.
Debbi Edelstein, Executive Director, and senior program staff members Bonnie Drexler (Education Director), Scott LaFleur (Botanic Garden Director), Ron Wik (Nursery Business Director), and Bill Brumback (Conservation Director) presented highlights of 2009 and discussed several of the innovative programs proposed for 2010.
The Society's Trustees had the honor of presenting awards to to the following individuals and organizations that have demonstrated creative vision and exceptional achievement in furthering the goals of the Society to conserve native plants and their habitats:
