The American Chestnut Tree

Less than 100 years ago, eastern U.S. forests were dominated by this majestic species, but by the 1950s, they were almost extinct, succumbing to a lethal fungus infestation known as the chestnut blight. Join wildlife biologist, Curt Laffin, as he discusses the history and demise of this signature tree and efforts by the American Chestnut Foundation to restore it locally and throughout its historic range.
