Gardens of the Nashoba Valley

How does a sustainable, organic garden look five to twenty-three years after it is first planted?  Which plant choices are hits and which are not?  How did the design evolve?  Come visit three Nashoba Valley gardens to study the use of natives and their Asian analogs while addressing these questions. Two gardens are in forest clearings where an understory was recreated, while the third is a woodland, abutting a meadow that has been edited and enhanced. Topics such as invasive removal and replacement, onsite shredding of leaves for mulch, lawn alternatives, and fertility management through compost tea and nutrient balancing will be discussed. Bring a bag lunch to enjoy at the end of the tour.
