Ferns of Bear Swamp
This large rich woods in west-central Massachusetts has considerable
pteridophyte diversity. Highlights include some unusual wood
ferns such as Dryopteris clintoniana, D. goldiana, and even a hybrid or two.
Most common ferns and a few other less common ones will be seen, e.g.
rattlesnake fern. Bring a bag lunch, water, insect repellent and appropriate footwear.
