Plant Sytematics Module 5
This module culminates the series of five modules on plant systematics. Building on topics from previous modules, students will gain an understanding of the breadth and complexity of plant classification. Hybridization, including its consequences and detection, is a key topic. Phylogeny reconstruction, taxonomic characters, reproductive biology, molecular data, and chromosomes are additional subjects that will be discussed. A fundamental theme of this module is the importance of evolutionary history in understanding the relationships among organisms.
