The Society’s native plant nursery at Nasami Farm produces over 55,000 plants for sale to the public and for Garden displays.
Description
New England Wild Flower Society is seeking three interns to gain hands-on experience identifying, propagating, and cultivating a wide variety of North American native plants. As part of this experience, interns assist in many facets of nursery operations, including propagation, potting, irrigation, growing on, retail plant sales, seed/cutting collection and processing, record keeping, coordinating volunteers, and providing public information. Interns also undertake a special project suited to their interest, attend education classes, network with professionals, and attend field trips. This is an opportunity to learn more about native plants and to gain useful experience in both nursery operation and management.
Skills
Candidates should have basic botanical understanding and familiarity with horticulture practices.

- Internships are full-time, six-month positions at Nasami Farm, Whately, MA
- Starting date: March
- Stipend: $370/ week [housing stipend included]. Interns are covered by Worker’s Compensation, but the Society does not provide health insurance, vacation, or sick-time benefits.
